The Gladiator Challenge

Our warrior ancestors had it pretty rough, but I doubt they experienced the same existential confusion we face today while fighting to avoid a horrible demise. They had to prove themselves in more than just one discipline, unlike today's specialized lifestyles, which are a product of the hard work of those who came before us.

The RFL will be publishing our standard athletic challenges. Our goal is for athletes to do their best to perform these challenges and submit their results in both written and unedited video format to be highlighted on the RFL site. To be considered and listed as official, all video submissions must be unedited. Once a challenge is complete, athletes are free to retry any standing challenge to improve their record.

The first independent standing challenge is the Gladiator. This time-based challenge consists of a 3-mile run, 50 strict pull-ups, 50 strict push-ups, 150 sprawls, and 200 round kicks on a bag or with a Thai mitt holder. Athletes using bags or mitts will be listed separately.
